^ The photo above was taken by her previous owner and does the Troopy great justice, hope he doesn't mind if I use it here. The door sticker was promotional and is not now on.

I've been advised to put it up on ebay, but I'd rather do it here for now. We're selling our 1983 FJ45 Oz Troop Carrier. Located in Phoenix, AZ.

If you have any concerns, I'm more than willing to have any 3rd party from ih8mud or ExPo discuss her quality. This is the ultimate 'round-the-world platform in simplicity, GVWR, interior volume, off-hwy capability, blah, blah, blah.

  • Legal AZ Title
  • Fantastic condition. Runs like a top, starts with first crank. This vehicle is not restored but is in really great shape both body and frame. I will take any requested picture and post, you name it.
  • ~205k miles
  • RHD
  • 2F w/ LPG (registered as alternate fuel)
  • "World Market" smog, points and vacuum advance dizzy
  • H41 w/ Fairey overdrive
  • Mileage 15-18mpg, less on the propane
  • FF rear, 4.10s
  • OME F&R

Reason for selling is upcoming law school, none other. No need for a sob story or anything, but by far the most fun LC I have ever driven :steer: and I have owned and driven many LCs.

Asking price $17,000

Folks this is a way cool truck. I have ridden in it and was very very impressed. If it was a 4 door I would be all over it.
Good luck with the sale, someone will get a rig to be proud of.

Will take pics. Actually, I have two FJ40 captains chairs with repro LC40 seat brackets facing forward, these are removed at this time (hauling furniture). I also have a small 2 person Jeep-style seat that I removed that I would be willing to include :)

Two carpet covered wood shelves (bolted) can adorn the back spanning well-to-well (pictured, removed at this time as well, all included).

I don't have a fridge. I'm more of a block ice kind of guy :D

I'll take further interior pics for display.

Hello, tried to pm you but your mail box is full.

What is your typical highway cruising speed with the overdrive unit?

Any idea if this is smog legal in CA?

Any additional pictures yet?

Thanks,

So sorry about the PM box, will clear out tomorrow/tonight.

I had my wallet taken/stolen from me recently and have been consumed with taking care of all of that. I will take her out for a nice drive and take bunches more pictures and some more from different angles.

On the hwy, I generally can get to 65-70mph without another thought at low RPMs with the overdrive. The 295s also help that out a little bit.

As for smog legality in CA unfortunately never living there I don't know the requirements. It does however have LPG conversion and is registered as alternate fuel vehicle. I do not know what the requirements are if it can be tested running LPG/Propane I would guess would run quite clean.
