In my last post I mentioned my 82 Yota PU with the 22R engine was apart for 5 years and I am finally working on getting it running. I can't for the life of me recall how to mount the alternator. I know it is located under the power steering pump but the brackets I have do not seem to be what I need. Does anyone out there have pics of the brackets and how they bolt on? This is driving me crazy! (More than usual) Since the truck has been apart so long maybe I am missing something. PLEASE HELP! NEED TO GET IT RUNNING!
THANKS,
LANCE

This is the only alternator pic I have with the engine out.

Hey Pappy!
Thanks again for the alternator pic. I can't tell by looking, but what does the top bracket bolt to at the engine? This project has been spread over several years and I can't for the life of me remember where it goes. Another question I have is do you know ofa lace I can get a new plastic cooling fan? the UV rays have destroyed mine.
Thanks

The bottom alternator btakcet bolts to the engine mount with the back two bolts. The alternator bracket up top bolts above the water pump. I wish I still had my engine out and I'd take a picture

Thanks! I took pictures tears ago but that phone went through the washing machine, therefore no more pics. I will check it out next week when I go to my lease. That's one of the problems, the truck is two and a half hours away.
I appreciate it!

The adjuster bracket uses the top driver side bolt on the timing cover (14mm head)

Stole this pic from 4crawler.
