For those interested in RHD and diesel this may be just the ticket. Per the ad, the truck was imported from New Zealand. It's even in my favorite color but I am not interested in RHD.

1982 Toyota Diesel Land Cruiser BJ42

Text from ad, with link to more pictures:

Putting my 1982 Toyota BJ42 Land Cruiser up for sale (essentially a factory diesel version of the FJ40). This is a New Zealand market/spec vehicle. It is right hand drive, which takes about 10 minutes to get used to. I bought it in Georgia and drove it to California, never missed a beat.
I have owned it since 2008. Legally titled as a diesel in California. Registration valid until April 2018. Selling as I rarely drive it and my life circumstances have changed. I have driven it less than 10k miles in the time I've owned it. Odometer (Kilometers) reads 17x,xxx.

Has the bulletproof 3B diesel engine. In 2010, I installed a brand new turbocharger kit from Turbo Glide (Australia) and new 2.5 inch exhaust, added boost gauge. Also in 2010, a rebuilt H55 5-speed transmission/T-case were installed. Turbo and 5-speed make this truck a real pleasure to drive, night and day difference. Shifting is tight, engine purrs. I run biodiesel when I can fine it, but it runs great on dino too.

2008/2009: new clutch, knuckle job/bearings/seals, new brake and clutch master cylinder, water pump, water outlet housing, recore radiator, new radiator hoses rear main seal, installed digital tiny-tach, digital EGT pyrometer, engine mounts, transmission mounts, thermostat, wheel cylinders, drum shoes, had interior roll bar fabricated (NZ market didn't have them), improved oil pressure and coolant gauges replaced in factory instrument panel. Front axle is a Longfield.

2010: OME 2.5 suspension: springs, shocks, and front stabilizer, injector diaphram and leaking line/seals

2011: heater hoses and main valve, installed stereo.

Wheels: Pacer 310w 16x7 rims, new p225/75R16 Yokohama Geolander HTS (installed before decided to lift) were all replaced before I drove cross-country with it.

Overall condition is very good for a 35 year old vehicle. Interior seats were recovered in NZ before I bought it, in very good shape. Passenger side seat does not recline, but you could swap out seats for buckets or find hardware to allow it to recline. Has original rubber floor coverings, although drivers side is work through. Cargo bed is not rusted. Was re-sprayed in NZ before I bought it. A nice 10ft paint job with several small areas showing imperfections. I do not see any rotted areas. Frame is solid. Hard top should be refinished, but gutter rails are not rusted out so it can all be refurbished and glassed. Weather stripping should be replaced.

Asking $27k, serious buyers only. Great candidate for restoration or turn-key drive and enjoy as is. Not many diesel 40 Series Land Cruisers left in this condition, far fewer (if any) with turbocharger and H55 already fitted!
