Howdy folks,
I'm the new guy here. After creeping through all the beautiful FJ40 build on here I finally have a reason to sign up myself.
I have been looking for a 40 series to build up as a project for a little while now, I've always likes the styling and the utter utilitarian concept and looks to them; I just haven't been able to find the right one for the right price.
Until now. Something new caught my eye the last time I looked and 5 long days later not one, but two showed up on my driveway.
The first, and the main focus of my efforts for the time being, is a neglected 1980 FJ40L with some usual, and unusual modifications into a pseudo bush truck. The second, is a much better condition 1976 with a 305 Chev V8 stuffed into it.
My plan is to restore one, then the other, to their former glory; keeping the '76 within stock appearance and keeping the '80 as the big bush truck.
But without further rambling here are some pictures of the '80 after a quick cleanup, the '76 pokes its head out in a couple of them!
