Hey guys,

Anyone have any knowledge on taking out glass and installing the sliding glass windowed frames on these Land Cruisers? I included pictures of my Land Cruiser, current metal frames with sliding glass, and the kit I ordered with the new seals. I currently have generic custom glass in there, but want to put the original metal frames with the sliding glass back in, with the newly ordered seal kit.

Any info will be appreciated!

Mine are aftermarket, and the outer weatherstrip is a Claytonrite strip with the filler strip on the outside (just find the end and pull it out, but you need a special tool to put it back in) - I can't see yours so I'm guessing it's either on the inside face, or else they're just bonded to the frame?

Ps. Interesting look; are you going for "mother was an FJ40, but daddy was a Peterbilt"?

Well, she is sensitive, she doesnt like being called a FJ, only HJ. She is a combo of a HJ and military vehicle designed, like on our vehicles with exhaust water fording kits, etc.

1. What special tool do you need to put the claytonrite strips back in?

2. What is the best way to remove the metal window frames and put them back in? Currently there is just glass with a seal, can it be just pryed out? What about putting the metal sliding window frames back in, do you need to install the channels/seals then install the sliding glass window complete?

3. Is there a forum or video showing the installation of these sliding glass windows?
