I have always wanted a FJ40 and I finally got one. I traded my 84 FJ60 for it. I am going to repair the floor pans and just cruise around until I finish my other truck.

Out with the old.

Wow, I hope you got some change!

Always nice to see a 40 go to a good home. :)

Whats the plan?

Looks like another fun project. I'm in year 2 of my resto and have had a great time with it so far. In the process of putting her back together at this point. Keep the process updated so we can watch the rebirth!!

Check the brake lines and exhaust leaks esp. with the holes in the floor. Mike

Good luck with your project. It's always good to see another Cruiser in the Northeast. Brendon

Hmmm I'm sure Uhaul would be really happy to see that first pic with the 62 on it! I was gonna do the same thing pulling my 62 with the Tundra cross country but Uhaul wasn't game!

Good luck with the build and awesome seeing another cruiser in the area!

They are not toyota.

Plugs & caps are on the way to you.

I didn't think so. Thanks!! I got them today.

Thats gonna take more than a weekend. Enjoy the obsession.

:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer: first six pack on me!!

Thanks for reminding me :flipoff2: That's Highlife right?

Best of luck on your rebuild. It's really nice to get a boost from the Mud community and I'll be following your progress as I work on mine!

Thanks. It's going to be slow but worth it in the end..I just checked out your build.:beer: Where in NJ are ya?

Well I reserved it online so I had to type the tow rig and the truck being towed and I guess since my dodge is a 3/4 ton it all checked out. Figures I sold my trailer a few months ago. I will be buying one SOON.

I was going to start my own thread when I started on my '79 but I can't seem to get around to it. Busy with life. I can at least give you one of my planned fixes. As you can see I have the same rear floorboard problem. I took some measurements, went to the junkyard and checked all the trucks, found a 1980 Dodge Dakota truck bed. It was the only bed with the correct spacing to fit between the wheel wells and has about the same number if ribs. I was planning to cut out the bed and weld it in as a replacement. Hope this helps.

never thought about that. I was just going to do some 1/8" diamond plate that I have. I may do the bed trick tho. Thanks
Two :beer::beer: for you!

Ok as much as I would love to restore this I have changed direction with it. It will be getting dana 60s and 42" Iroks :flipoff2: I will be keeping an eye out for a cleaner 40 that I will restore and hopefully DD.
