1978 FJ55 Land Cruiser

$12,500.00

Time to hand off my project 1978 FJ55 Land Cruiser to someone who has the resources to finish restoring this awesome-looking rig to its full potential. A lot of work and new parts have gone into this 55 during the past five years. It was not driven during the restoration.

The 2F engine runs fine. The Cruiser needs more work before it’s road-worthy.

Brand new, never been used parts and work:
Body-off-frame rust repair completed 6/17
Custom cargo panels replace the cargo windows
New classic Toyota sandstorm paint
Rhinoliner applied to frame and body interior
New custom roof rack with integrated driving and rear lights from Gamiviti Racks
New Smittybilt 10K winch- never used- needs to be mounted
Custom bumpers including new swing-out spare tire/gas can carrier rear bumper with integrated brake/turn lights.
New Cooper SST Pro 33” tires mounted on new ProComp aluminum wheels with ¾” spacers- Never been on the road!
New ProComp shocks and steering-stabilizer
Freshly reupholstered front bucket seats from an Infinity
Matching custom door panels with original window cranks and handles
Recovered rear bench seat
Custom front turn signals
New exterior mirrors
Digital dash gauges with GPS speedo
Power steering (Randy’s Off-Road), but needs work
Rebuilt steering gear (7/17 Protech Automotive)
Rebuilt alternator (7/17 Protech Automotive)
PowerTrax limited-slip differential
New parking brake shoes
Knuckles rebuilt (6/14 Brody’s Muffler & Brake)
Radiator and fuel tank refurbished (Performance Radiator)
Trail Gear axles
Aisin Hubs (Cruiser Outfitters)
Upgraded headlights
Intermittent wipers switch

Additional info:
Full carpet and I have the original rubber floor mat
Headliner is in good shape
Tinted windows need re-tinting
2F engine has about 40K miles on rebuild (Randy’s Off-Road). Smog control system removed.
Weber carb, headers, new exhaust
Disc brake conversion
Shackle reversal
3” Lift (Specter)
Spare glass and misc. parts including the stock Birfields, gauges, rear heater

There is still serious work needed to complete this project:
Steering- needs a shock tower fabricated to fit steering linkage
Electrical- needs a complete rewiring from fuse block to dash
Fuel system- working, but mounting needs to be completed
Rear window lift- new rubber tracks installed but needs finishing. LIft works.
Engine oil leak requires a complete reseal
Interior bits reinstalled

I’ve owned this FJ55 since 2000. I imported it from British Columbia and used it as my daily driver for many years before starting this restoration project.

Serious inquiries only. I won’t respond to low-ballers. I am not going to part-out any piece of this rig.
