1978 FJ55 resto mod (1 Viewer)

Bought this one from @TachedOutOffRoad

Plan is a mild restoration build with a few modern touches

Keep the 2F, maybe go h55f, very mild lift. PS, disc front axle, classic colors/lines. Bucket seats. Have a “factory” 2F AC setup and radio for it.

Interesting that the front fenders have markers. Wasn’t a thing in 1978, but I’m gonna keep them.

Considering these seats for the front row. This is also the evaporator I’ll use. Note the lack of a heater on this truck.

1974 Pua'a

1 - 1974 fj55, SOA on locked / built 60 axles currently in bodywork (this very thread) 2 - 1978 fj55, blue on white, used to belong to @TachedOutOffRoad plan, current plan is to use the 2F, h55f factory AC evaporator, interior, etc from the blue & white barn door truck, needs paint and bodywork...

Thinking of dropping the Mosley 4.4L 2F with the Carillo rods and pistons in this one. Holley Sniper EFI w/ Hyperspark ignition, my new stainless header (assuming it fits), 5-speed, factory AC, bucket seats, Sky Blue over Cygnus White

Gonna put that setup in the 74 (Pua’a) that is SOA and armored and this one gets an 80 frame with a turbo 1fz-fe and 5-speed out of the 62 on 80 frame project that sat for 4 years.
