1978 FJ55 for sale $5000 SOLD

SOLD Nicest Pig I've owned VERY little rust, most important to me were the cab/body supports and it's rock solid underneath. Factory a/c blowing cold, rust proofed when new. I am in Little Rock, AR and would trust it to drive anywhere. I am soon to be be 52 years old and just don't have the want or desire to fix the little things it needs, rather be fishing. $5000 is firm and when you see it I'm sure you will agree it's a fair price, consider part trade for clean, lwb R/75. This is the link to the pics I looked at when I bought it off MUD.

ah man--if I had the 5 grand....

then I'd turn my '72 into a wheeler...

New tactic in order it appears, lower price

Really don't want to evilbay this fine Pig so I'd like to sell it here. All my cards on the table,,,,I paid $4000 for it with no regrets, then I paid $1350 to move it still no regrets as I bought it to keep. Well life changes, of which I'm glad can't stand to stand still, and need to sell it. For a Mud member maybe I wouldn't feel too bad to lose my transport money so $4000 will work but at that price please don't try to negotiate, next stop roll of the dice with ebay.

Wow-that's the nicest 55 I've seen come up in a while. If it were a 75 (and thus exempt from Ca emissions) I would consider it and swap in my spare Fj60 drive train.

Here's a bump for you.

Still available?

Yes it is, this and the local Craigslist is the only place I have it advertised.

Doesn't Kalifornia allow you to install a newer engine in an older vehicle?!? Seems like that's something California would be all over. Newer engine generally = less emissions.

Sure they allow it, but you still have to be tested. Plus, you are required to have all of the smog equiptment that came stock with whatever motor you used. Total PIA. Smog exempt is much better, and so a 75 pig in that shape would be desirable, a 76 is not worth the effort.
