I have only had this a couple years but I just traded my car for an SUV and don’t need two 4x4’s. This has been a blast to own and drive. As you can imagine I can’t go anywhere without getting comments and stares. Although it’s not perfect, it’s in great shape with lots of extras. I put in a clutch about 2 years ago, but most of the other work was done by the previous owner. He’s on MUD and I’ll put a link to his build threads at the end.
THE GOOD:
3FE conversion from an 88 Fj62
Polished and ported intake
MSD 2225 electric fuel pump and aeromotive regulator
New OEM fuel tank
Roundeyes.com HID headlights
Rebuilt Warn 8274
Vintage Air A/C
4” lift
BF Goodrich All Terrain TA’s 33 x 10.50 15’s w/ less than 5000 miles on them
FJ62 chrome wagon wheels
Mini truck power steering conversion with Saginaw PS pump
Replaced dash bulbs with LED’s
Tuffy center console
Dashman dash storage box
Second skin CLD sound deadener
Cruiser solutions full carpet kit
Procar aftermarket leather seats
THE BAD:
I have had occasional starting problems. It ran great when I first got it and it’s been running great for the past couple months. But there was about 6 weeks this past summer when I was driving it daily that it would occasionally not start or stall as I came to a stop. It never left me stranded, but I thought it might a couple times. Also the front end has been painted, but the tub still needs paint. The fenders should be replaced due to rust, and there's an area of rust on the windshield that needs attention for the ps wiper to work correctly, but other than that it’s solid. PM me with any questions you have or specific pictures you need. My brother (ccasteel on mud) has been working on landcruisers for over 20 years and is much more knowledgeable than me. He is willing to answer questions as well if you want to PM him.
