Based on the amount of / or lack of interest in my ad for this FJ-40, I am starting to think I may have had it priced too high for the current economy and 40 market. Therefor I am going to drop the asking Price from $11,000 to $9,500 and let negotiations begin their.

1977 model year FJ-40, original low mileage @ 67,000 miles : 2nd owner, this is a great foundation for restoration, minor body and paint work needed to finish it off if you are just trying to get to pretty. Or simply put it on the road as a daily traveler or on the trail as is today for spring wheeling and camping, this truck is ready as is to perform as designed. Compared to most east coast FJs this truck has a clean body, with no body work done before, so you will not be wasting money and time redoing someone's previous cover up. Top and doors, with all original weather stripping included.

Solid running gear with professional mechanical work done over the years, I have owned it since October of 2001. The goal was to rebuild it from the ground up a little at a time. Sometimes life has other plans, and I got detoured early in the interior and before body and paint. Some of the extras on this FJ-40 are: ARB front bumper with Warn 8274-50 Winch, 2 ½ Old man EMU suspension, 33 x 11.5 x 15 BFG MT, on “new” old school wheels and stock caps, front windshield and rear full cage kit, two Tuffy-security consoles, overhead and between seats. MG high output alternator, and all new heavy duty cabling to support winch and future electrical additions, transmission shift security lock and a brand new from the box Toyota drop-tailgate and hardware for topless days, also note the “baby gate” which surrounds the upper tub, the only other one I have seen in person is on a 67 45 LWB pick-up, and in the old hard bound parts manuals.

Less than 5,000 miles ago, 8 yrs. ago the floor board and underneath along with frame and axles were needled gun / wire wheeled, then primed and painted. Stainless Steel brake lines, hose and all hydraulics replaced along with rear axle seals and front axle rebuild. R&R oil pump, pan and pan gasket, rear main seal and “complete” clutch job including resurface, pilot and input shaft of tranny. A three angle valve job all new guides and seals, ridge reamed and light cylinder hone on block, with intake and exhaust manifold rebuild, new water pump and freshened the Toyota radiator.

Note: The emissions has been completely removed in a sensible manor, for easy replacement if you choose, and a typical Webber carburetor installed which runs extremely well. Located in Front Royal, VA 15 min. from Hwy 81, $9,500 or cash and guns, contractors equipment, comparable 4 door sedan, VW TDI, etc. considered. My opinion may be a bit bias, this is a great Cruiser at a great deal. 540-631-0303. Happy Hunting,

Thanks for that, being an old guy I like putting just a bit of functional-retro in all my personal builds. I am still figuring the forum out, but I eventually wish to put up an album of some of trucks I have built over the years

Great truck, would highly recommend checking this one out. Solid and clean, great truck for someone looking for a 40 as a DD, weekend warrior or an almost complete resto-project. James is a great guy to deal with and has more than his share of experience and knowledge on the LC platform in general.

GLWS James, someone will get a real treat...

Do you still have the FJ 40 and if so, could you send more pictures including interior, engine, undercarriage... Thanks
