I just got a 1976 FJ40 that has been sitting for 12 years. I have been doing all the things to start to get it going. Got it running a couple of weeks ago and thought I would try to drive it. It drove pretty good around my house for about 10 min. Parked it and did a few more things. The second time I drove it the clutch slipped a couple of times. Then my dad came over an I could hardly get it to move. Now it will not move. I can shift into gear when the clutch is out, unless I pump the clutch several times. Then when I push the clutch in to put it in gear, I let it out and nothing. I put it in 4 low reved it up in reverse and it moved like an inch. Could the clutch be having problems sliding on the shaft? What is the best way to see what is happening without having to pull everything apart? By the way I have not gone through all the wheels and some are pretty hung up with the brakes. The clutch master and slave work fine. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!!

sounds like it has a leak and is low on brake fluid.try search funchion lots of info there on this.

I think I solved it! Mouse nest in between the clutch cover and the pressure plate. It is hard to clean out but it moved again.
