Uk member here just about to buy his 3rd 40 this one's all legal and on the road instead of being 'maybe one day' projects

Currently toyota green thinking about matt black as a new colour (dull black sometimes it's like you lot speak another language ;) ) does anyone have a similar truck/colour or ideas on cool colours

Looked through the gallery but be gentle it's my birthday and cider has been flowing

Thanks

I've decided on perrywinkle blue with matching scatter cushions. Thinking drapes as opposed to a roller blind.
Thanks for your help I'll have a root around

LOL on the color choice!
I was happy that I could snatch it.

You're on it great film that one

Glad at least one person isn't ignoring me;)

We've been ignoring you all since we threw your tea in the bay... LOL..

If its a 76 it has the wrong bezel (for here anyway)

Nice rig...even though the steering wheel is on the WRONG side ..are 45s common over there?

How's that independence thing working out by the way

40's are rare as rocking horse s*** over here

I haven't been ignoring you, I just can't tell what on earth you were asking.

Still can't. Are you hoping for pictures of matte black 45s?
That's a nice looking 45. I assume it's been repainted since I don't see rust holes in it?

Personally, I wouldn't paint it anything that wasn't a Toyota color for a 40 originally. That's not my favorite color of green, but just think: you could be the only chap in the isles with a Nebula Green 45! How cool would that be? Incredibly cool, that's how.

you must be the only person in England with a landcruiser,,,,,,,,

I bet the landrovers are looking for you
They can look and marvel!!!!

Landrovers everywhere here not bad used to be Brit owned like everything in this backward country. We call Landrovers bonnet ups over here.

There are a few about but we're talking dozens and I have 3 of them

Matte black see I knew there'd be differences matt black here

Anyway I've changed my mind Green is good I work as a landscaper so it suits my job but the current favourite is the desert camo type colour. There are a few body issues to deal with first so I'll keep looking and make decisions later:cheers:

Look for pictures of Judson Green; now that's a good original color

Edit: I don't suppose you are currently breaking a hilux with a 1kz-te engine in it are you?

Your 45 is an '80 something. It has the squared bezel, and the extended flange down from the windshield.

Nice looking none the less. What was the original colour?

he's correct. if you look at the matte black rig, you'll see the rain gutter in front of hte door doesnt' go all the way down and yours does. that, and the later model bib and bezel are 79 and up (here in the us at least). might check your vin against a vin chart.

btw, while i love black, and i once painted a 40 black, it just doesn't do the 40 series justice. brighter colors work so great on the 40 series, jmho.

Looking into it I'm sure you're both right it hasn't landed yet. Hoped it was pre 1973 when I first went for it pre '73 is road tax free over here

1979 is good enough that would've made me 6 when it rolled off the line:cheers:
