This would fall under the 75 and newer area. Especially since it has a new 2F. Just from what I see in the pics It appears to be worth what the owner is asking. You might want to take someone from your local club with you to look at it before you buy it. It has the normal rust and its not covered up so you can see it. The rear sill etc... its hard to guess what the rest of the floor and undercarriage look like but barring any surprises, good luck.

I wouldn't pay over $5k for it but if I looked it over in person I may feel differently. Too many unknowns. Have you looked at it up close? The way prices are now he will probably get more for it than that. If you are in the market and serious you better take some cash and go look.

I don't want to buy a truck from someone who doesn't even take a moment brush the sticks and leaves and cobwebs off the thing before taking blurry photos. I can guarantee no one has spent a dime on this thing in years.

You will need a huge pile of cash to make this truck decent and by the time you have put forth all the effort and money, you will realize you could have gone out and bought something with less rust and fewer mechanical issues for the same amount. - Pass

Clearly if you want to spend a little more you are going to get more. I would at least look at it and take someone with you who knows cruisers. They may be willing to take much less if it is warranted. Everyone has seen better rigs for less money. What I was looking at is how complete it is. Correct, Solid hardtop and doors, Minimal or well done modifications etc... neglect is usually a given if they are going to part with a 40. Few people who maintain them, sell them unless at a premium. Every once in a while one will come along for a decent price in much better shape. If you are patient it will help. Overton isn't wrong but it depends on what you are expecting to do with it and what the actual condition is.

Thanks for all the well thought out feedback. I'm interested in this rig for the asking price and it's the newest model ambulance doors/2f) I can purchase and still avoid California smog requirements.

Sorry, my post was cut off. My ideal situation with this rig would be to have the brakes, steering and vacuum leak addressed by a professional. Hoping at that point it will be drivable. I'd be happy driving it then and improving it on my own as time and finances allow. Again, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

There are much worse deals out there. I live close by and have considered checking it out but haven't done so yet. Be prepared to do as thorough inspection as possible, which would confirm the price is acceptable or give you bargaining power to negotiate. I've seen much more expensive rigs that weren't even complete and the owner would not budge on price at all. In California a 1975 rig is ideal to me as well, no smog and ambulance doors. Good luck!!
