Well, I was on here a while ago looking for a few odds and ends for this truck that my neighbor picked up "for free" on one of those "if you wanna come haul it out the weeds and tinker with it, you can have it" deals which are rare enough, but after my buddy and I spent a few weekends of fooling with it, the guy saw what it looked like and now wants cash for it. Lame. Really lame.

We removed all the mice and trash and crud from the truck, tracked down some junkyard rims and tires that held air, put some seats in it, powerwashed it and did a detail job w. a can of WD40. Not gonna win any shows, esp. as it has no interior to speak of, but we were both surprised how well the Toyota ran, my friend especially as he's an old powerwagon guy and had been talking trash.

It now has a new master cyl, but needs a set of wheel cyls. in the rear. We are out of money and p.o'd at having to give it back or produce cash. SO, it's for sale. It's legit, the guy wants to sell it, it is only too bad that neither one of us has any free $$$ to toss at him. :flipoff2:

Asking $1,500

Located in Portland, Oregon. With brakework she'd probably drive out of here on her own steam.

Yeah, a real drag. But the paperwork is in order and the truck needs to go soon. Somebody should come grab it up. Who doesn't want a 55 for xmas?

Yeah I wish we could. I'm not really out of pocket on it as my neighbor paid me back for the parts I bought for it, and I don't really mind the labor as it has been fun getting this girl going again. It just kinda stinks that my friend is too good a sport to stand up to the guy. He'll just end up being mad for three years and avoid Toyotas out of superstition. If I could get someone interested in it, he'd recoup his time and $$$, which would make for a merry christmas. Though it's probably a bad time to post this thing as all y'all are trying to get your kids the G.I. Joe with the kung-fu grip...

I know a guy...who knows a guy...who knows a guy....if you know what I'm sayin. Seriously, that truly sucks. I am experiencing some Portland Pig Issues (PPI) (owner issues and purportedly upstanding persons issues) as well. Not necessarily a Pig or Cruiser thing...I'm thinking more a Portland thing, just my own personal experience/observations thus far.

"If you pay me, I will haul it away for you. Just want the gas money from Seattle."

And if you pay me, I'll dance a jig in my underpants, but I don't see how that will help either.

Honestly, I don't blame you for trying, but we'd like to clear a couple bucks on the thing if we aren't going to get to play with it in the spring, and seriously, for $60 in brake parts from Napa, you could drive this truck to Kenmore.

I agree the price is fair...just would hate to see that owner get any cash after backing out of the deal...

I'm really hoping to help my neighbor walk a little straighter. He's probably got three bills in it now, and I'm sure he'd be happy to break even. I'd like to hook him up w. an extra hundred for the effort.

I have nothing to do with the thing at this point, just another cook in the kitchen. But I dig this site and figured the old girl could be of interest here perhaps more than sitting on the street w. a for sale sign. Craigslist attracts a lot of needy people, weird trade options, and highschool kids with big hearts and small wallets. But you all know that.

Actually, I don't expect that much more from you guys, :p but at least you keep the Toyota fires burning.

Beyond that, all I know is that "the guy" wants it back so he can sell it. I never met him and don't know what's up. He supposedly picked it up w. big plans several years ago... Didn't work out.

My guess, he's got some homeowner-type expenses and perhaps a significant other advising him on his net worth.

A quick turnover would be relatively painless, but if one of y'all is feeling particularly intrigued and equally broke, perhaps the owner himself will deal. That's kinda beyond me. Still though, it's not a bad price.

The title is in "the other guy's" name. Clear Oregon title as far as I know. It has current tags, don't know if it's insured. Not really an issue for potential buyers, but only to say that it's been on the road recently.

I know it's convoluted, but I'm basically posting a truck as a non-interested party for a guy I never met. Don't really think there would be a problem, PM me if you'd like more details, but honestly I'm just trying to help my neighbor out.

Posted on craigslist here in Portland yesterday. Had some interest. Some form equatorial Africa. You'd think they'd have a decent supply of old Toyotas there already. Unless someone is feeling spontaneous or lonely or has the best girlfriend ever, probably a bad time to sell... but it's for sale all the same. Unless I can figure out how to use an offshore acct. to cash a percentage of $50,000 third party check. In which case, you guys all lost out big!
