1974 FJ40 - What's it worth?

Hey guys - Trying to figure out what my '74 FJ40 is worth in it's current condition. It's a "barn find" with 85,000 miles. I'm torn between selling it now as an original runner or starting a restoration. If I sell it, what to ask?
Previous owner said it has the "factory" PTO, and believed the winch to be original. I'm not sure about that, as it's a Braden winch, but it does have the factory rear heater. Completely stock and original as far as I know, runs great and everything works, but has typical tub rust. Frame is good and much of the floor is decent. It has been painted at least once.
Appreciate any input and advice. Thanks in advance!

Looks to me like it's in pretty nice shape. Where are you located? How's the frame? Make a few more posts on people's threads so that your allowed pictures and pm's increases.

It looks like it had the alternator moved to the passenger side at one time. I see a cut out in the fan shroud, threaded bracket holes in the head and an empty pulley groove on the water pump pulley. Did someone install power steering? Also I didn't think a 74 had the threaded holes in the head.

Thanks. I’m in Vancouver BC. Frame looks to be very good and solid, just surface rust – I haven’t gotten under there with a hammer yet to look for soft spots. Appreciate the advice on the price range – will have to see how well it works once I get it plated and driving around. I don’t think it’s been on the road for maybe 15-20 years.

Thanks SouthBoston for pointing those things out – I wish I had more pics on there, would like to know how original it actually is (or isn’t). Definitely a bit of artwork on that shroud, I didn’t notice it. No power steering, but there are the unused pulley grooves so maybe that engine is not original – I thought it was. Any way to confirm that? There’s a pad on the passenger side of the block that has “F526890” stamped on it. VIN is FJ40168323, not sure if they are supposed to correspond?

How about the PTO setup – if it’s a factory PTO, supposed to quite rare, right? Is it possible that it’s an add-on?

that is an F engine and that is what it should have been.

PTO is not that rare... but cool.. I am guessing it was a dealer installed option.

It may possibly have a F.5. My 74 had that motor.
