I have a 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 that I've gotten about 90% done building. This is an EXCELLENT FJ40 and it runs flawlessly!! It needs lights and blinker work taken care of. I have what's needed to have it legal but the blinkers aren't working, blows the fuse every time I try. I was going to get a new flasher for it. This thing is 98% rust free (was just down to the bare metal and it was clean) and it'll start right up every time! I'm open to any trades but it's going to have to be fair, I'm fine with an 80, 60, Crawler, Jeep or whatever just run it past me. For $4,000 or best offer/trade here's what you're getting:

1974 FJ40 With the following:

Low milage F2 motor
3 Speed Trans
Competition roll cage
Grand am seats mounted to the cage
Fuel and battery moved to the rear
Con-fer shackles
3 inch lift
Holley Electric Fuel Pump
New motorcraft carb conversion
Aluminum Radiator
Needs some blinkers and minor stuff done to have it 100% ready to go
This thing runs and drives EXCELLENT!
Needs a wiper motor fabed up, was going to use a universal mounted to the bottom or newer FJ frame. Doesn't rain much here so I didn't really give it a second thought as I don't drive on days that may rain.

Just listed it on ebay, Item number: 330251446333.... You might get a hell of a deal on one very nice FJ40 for the money....

What is going on with the market? No bids in 3 days, no questions or anything, is it really that bad? Sad day when a CJ7 pulls more than an FJ40, anybody have an explanation for that?

:bang:I think it is really that bad I have been trying to sell my 70 blazer for over a month have lowered price to 3000.00 still no takers lots of low ballers I even put it on ebay myself and only received 2 bids. Times are really tuff.

times really that tough can't even sell my 70 blazer for 3000.00 put it on ebay but only received 2 bids and why would anyone want a jeep I have a fj40 looks just like yours with a 350 conversion but yours is cool original.

Man that's harsh, I know money is tough but damn, that's why trades are nice but I really haven't even gotten any trade offers. 2 years ago I sold an FJ that was half as nice as this, still had ball and claw axles and was pretty sloppy. Anyway, I got $4,500 for that within 24 hours on ebay... Just really sucks that jeeps are still getting good money, Cruisers use to always get more so there must be some reason FJs are hit harder than CJs...

You might get a bite if you turn the bezel right side up ;)

Do you have any compression numbers on the motor? Is it registered? Can it be driven to SoCal? Your ebay buy-it-now price is $4950 so what's the $5500 in your first post. I'm interested but I'm a cheap. 3K is more in my price range.

No I have never checked the numbers. The motor was bought from Tim Hill and was meant to go to Man-A-Free, I took the best one he had sitting there in the group of about 25 and this motor is rock solid! You could drive it to SoCal no troubles at all! It's hot and doesn't have a shroud so that would be my only worry, if you're in major stop and go or trying to wheel it right now it will get warm on you. Otherwise it drives very nice and the seats are a great fit, they feel really nice with a lot of room. It isn't registered, I just havenlt driven it enough in the last couple years and when I needed to I bought a three day tag for it. As for the price, it just needs to go so I dropped my BIN...

If you throw in some diamonds I might be interested.

LandCruiserPhil.... I would think prior to posting without the correct background or information you would check with Woody. Does that seem like it would be the most grown up and adult thing to do prior to attacking a person, their reputation or character? I would address concerns with the person they should be addressed to because A) That would solve the problem and get me off the site... And B) You risk causing somebody who has not abused mud damage due to your own lack of research, information or alerting the people that should know.

If you had contacted Woody you would know this issue has been addressed and is a dead horse. I would ask that you do so now and hope that after you would be adult enough to edit your post, IH8Wood, I ask that you would do the same as you've just taken the word of somebody else for granted without confirming anything and neither of you could be more wrong.

The only other thing I want to say is that you're all very quick to jump on the bandwagon, there are three of you bashing a good guy who hasn't scammed, stole or done anybody wrong on mud. I'm good to people and a kind hearted person, the people I sold parts to on here I've bent over backwards to help, give a better price or include things I didn't have to. I think you need to ask yourself why you're so willing to act like you have because I would personally be ashamed of myself if I behaved the same way.

For the FJ40, I'm a single dad with 3 kids, I live a very simple life and don't have much money any more. If you want the Cruiser it's yours for $4,000... I would like to purchase another rental and need some money for the down payment so I don't care about the price anymore. I sold one years ago that was 1/10th as nice as this for more but clearly nothing is fetching a good price so I'll just suck it up.....

Honestly is that what this board has come to? I don't want to insult anybody but in less than 4 hours three of you jumped on the same bandwagon but when given 2 days you're unwilling to be adult enough to admit you may have jumped the gun without any further information, support, backing or research?

Even the thread posted has -spike- posting in it and clears the air a little.

I think it's sad how much mud people slam others for not using the search function but 3 of you failed to lift a finger and do it.

As a side note, I looked at MANY posts on the accounts that we all posted on. What exactly did this "sonoranfun", "just4fun", "tmblwed" do? I saw some delay in shipping but not one person was ripped off, lost money, got scammed or anything else! I did see write ups on fixing door problems, extended hands to new comers and offers for parts, labor, tools and other things but nothing to make me not do business with them. I did see some being argumentative, childish behavior and the likes but that's more immature than malice...

Well, if it isn't clear above I sold it, man the market is something else right now! Also, 150 plus people have looked at this without so much as a comment, I hope that's as sad to at least of a few of you as it is to me. It seems I often put far too much faith in people just doing the right thing. But man, 150 views of a hijacked thread and nobody is willing to comment in 4 days but in under 4 hours 3 can jump onboard the lynching wagon...
