I am selling my 1974 FJ40. The VIN is FJ40161367 so I believe this is an October 1973 vehicle. It is my understanding the truck spent it's life in Tennessee and North Florida. I purchased the vehicle with the intent of doing some cool things with the truck. However, two weeks later I ran across a really interesting 1964 FJ40.....and then I bought a 45 Troopy not long after that. Bottom line, this unlucky 40 is odd man out. The truck is at my cruiser mechanic's shop in Thomasville, Georgia, and I'm going to swing by tomorrow and grab some more photos. I can grab specific photos for anyone interested. The photos posted below are from the day I picked it up and how it sits today.
I believe the motor is a later 2F and it has a 4-speed. The frame is solid with no rot. The hardtop is in good condition. The ring between the sides and fiberglass top has some damage and will need to be replaced. I will post some pictures tomorrow. The original jump seats are in pretty good condition. The original front seats were not present when I acquired it. There are some seats but they are not bolted in. The gentlemen that owned before me had removed them because there was a fuel tank issue. I believe and it appears the fuel tank was replaced, however the seats were not installed. I heard the truck run before I purchased it but it has not run since (purchased it October 2017). The plan was to replace the engine with an extra 1HZ I had so I was not too concerned at that time. There is a replacement floor pan in the back of the truck. It was there when I bought it. I'm not entirely sure why they purchased it because the floor pan did not look that bad. But I will grab some of those photos tomorrow as well.
The photos show some body damage along the passenger side. There is some rust in the rear corners and sill area. The rear half doors were replaced with a better set - but the color doesn't match. The truck was painted at least once as they painted the hardtop tan instead of white.
