not being a jerk or anything, but how can a rig with milage so low, look that bad after sitting in storage for 19 years. It doesn't look bad for a rig that age, mine looked the same when I started. Was it stored outside?

do you have more pics around the body and interior? I'm in Southern Idaho, How far from the Utah Idaho boarder are you?

Story behind this cruiser:

3 owners.

Owner #1:Doctor from Palm Springs bought it brand new to go elk hunting in Colorado every year (trailered it to CO every year). On one of his hunts, he rolled it over. After rolling it, he left it parked in his back yard for more than 8 years.

Owner #2: Bought it from the doctor. He pounded out the dents (no bondo), etc... and rattle canned it red for his daughter to drive to high school. After girl graduated she no longer wanted to drive it. This owner moved the land cruiser to his property in Southern Utah. He parked it inside an army tent next to his fifth wheel where it stayed parked for almost 14 years. The first few years he vistited his "ranch" in Southern Utah he putted around his 20 acres w/ the land cruiser. After that it just sat for the next 12 years. The army tent ripped apart about the sixth year, so it sat for almost 8 years in the Southern Utah sun. I spotted it... tracked him down.... and bought it from him.

Owner #3 me:): Trailered it home and fixed everything (see list in original post) that was damaged due to it not being used. I have owned it for almost 8 years. I spent a year getting it road worthy and have used it the last 7 years on family excursions on the rural roads in Southern Utah and on the Arizona strip. I would not hesitate to load my wife and three small boys in it today and go anywhere.

Bottom line: It will never win any beauty pageants as it sits. But, if you want a low, low, low, actual mileaged FJ40 with lots of potential and that will take anything you throw at it for the next 35 years...this is for you.

If you want a polished shiney mall cruiser....you are better off checking ebay.;)

So what are you asking for this '40?

can you post some pics of the interior? Thanks.

Factory soft top vehicle? Or just missing the hardtop?

It came from the factory as a soft top. It does not have the original hardware. Currently it has a Bestop on it in good condition. I will be posting more pictures later today.

1973 LAND CRUISER

I am corresponding w/ several interested parties...but no takers, yet.

I am working on photos right now. These photos are about two weeks old. Mechanically this cruiser is excellent. NO RUST !!!!!! Nothing has been "jerry rigged". It is unmolested in that sense (pretty much stock). You will not be disappointed w/ this cruiser.

The only things wrong with it are:
  • PO replaced front blinkers and rear markers w/ non stock type.
  • Gas guage works periodically (I believe the fuse is loose)
  • Antenna is broken off
  • Hood and fenders are bent/damaged. If you replace these the body would be great.
  • Back window of soft top is cracked and zippers are not meshing.
  • Hard doors & windows rattle on rough roads.
  • Tires are about 1/2 tread. They are oversized for offroading. Not the greatest on the highway.
  • Rear seats need recovered. I have brand new covers from CCOT included in purchase price.
thanks,

If you were close to Louisville I'd love to have it. Bump for you though. I'm looking to trade my 96 4Runner Limited for a nice FJ.
