1972 RHD FJ40 - column shift ? barn doors ? 3 lines on dash ? (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I'm looking at a 1972 right hand drive FJ40 here in Sri Lanka.

The VIN is FJ40-115902
Engine number F373171
Model goes as FJ40VC

What can you folks tell me about this vehicle ?

Should it have column shift or floor shift ?
Barn doors or vertically split doors ?
Should the dashboard have 3 lines pressed in the steel face in the middle ?

Has anyone any idea about those 3 lines in the middle of the dash ? what period of 40s had them ?

I don't know about outside the US. But the '72 I had did not have those 3 lines.

But again, I don't know if it that holds true outside the US.

That steering wheel is all wrong as well as the gauge cluster.

Ribs in the dash I'm guessing are stock. The padded dash in the US did away with the ribs but it continued longer in most markets since markets didn't have a padded dash.

Gauge cluster reminds me of USS Enterprise bridge from the original TV series (circa 67’).
