$1500 that's funny and stupid.

I've paid $1,000 for Non running parts trucks. I can assure you I made it work several times.

More diamond plate then original sheet metal, maybe $1,500.00 not $15K. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say his price was a typo. I bought mine for $15k last summer and felt like I gave him a little more then it was worth. Original paint no rust.

Your in for a rough ride from folks here. Diamond plate tub, no rear sil, rattlecan paint, jeep taillights, overspray everywhere? 15k? Glws
I don't know why you'd knock me over this. If you're not interested, simply move on to the next thread. I bought it for fun. It's a great truck. It was updated last year by ACC in Atlanta. The custom soft top is worth a lot by itself. I basically drive it on weekends. For someone who really knows what they're doing and loves to tinker, a few thousand dollars and a little weekend work would probably translate into a lot more value. Someone pretty smart will buy it.

this is a tinkerers diamond in the rough and an absolute steal which will provide some lucky buyer quite possibly a decade worth of tinkering. id say this might even be priceless. :)

I don't know where you guys come up with $1000.00 FJ's I wish I could find stuff below $2k. I would have 10 sitting ready for me to build up over the next 5 years.

Billincamo. How you got that FJ40 for $15k and feel you paid too much shocks me. I must live in the wrong part of the country. That would be a $20k FJ40 around here. Unless I'm missing something from the pics.

But at least this is a running driving FJ40 and someone cared enough to keep it on the road. Not saying it's a $15k FJ40. But of them have thier positives and negatives. One less FJ40 rotting away somewhere. GLWS.

What's with all the chat in for sale threads lately? It says a lot more if someone list something and doesn't get a single reply as maybe this one should be treated.

When a respected member (antfj) last year just asked reasonable questions in a certain vendors Fj40 thread he was threatened with being banned.

I'm new and the first thing I learned is these things can have considerable rot and that diamond plate is used to cover that rot.

Why would anyone take a perfectly good vehicle and cover the areas prone to rust/rot with diamond plate if it didn't have any rust or rot ? Adding diamond plate to a classic or collectible vehicle is a great downgrade.

Hm, I guess honesty isn't always the best policy. I see that my earlier post explaining why some of us are critical of diamond plate and recent paint got deleted. Oh, well. Good luck with your sale! Um, winch, not wench ...
