(damn good deal for this price IMO)

This is the first LC I've ever bought... It has been featured in
Toyota Canada's Tacoma television campaign.

It is a '72 but with a 74F (basically a 2F) that was rebuilt (new
gaskets, seals, rings, bearings, machining) about 20k miles ago. 4
speed tranny with tcase from a 3 spd. Front discs, rear drums.
Belton 2.5" suspension, 35" MTR's. Rear axle springs have been
flipped which moved the rear axle back 4 inches and resulted in
better ride and more travel. 2 years ago, I reskinned the body and
repainted with the stock color in PPG paint.

The good:

- rear aussie locker
- hard top
- bikini top
- steel half-doors that I could be convinced to include.
- aqualu tailgate with storage box
- custom tasteful rear bumper w/LED taillights
- front winch plate (I will keep the winch)
- 40 channel Uniden CB and magmount antenna
- full cage.
- The dash also has a 'dashbox' storage compartment that emulates the
look of the original dash pad but is also a storage locker (for winch
remote, sun glasses, umbrella, etc..
- 80/100w H4 bulbs/lenses on relays with 3M headlight protection film.
- custom steel rear fender flares (Loewen flares)
- stock toyota electronic ignition (from a 78).
- I also have the jump seats from a BJ-42 (these have the pop-down leg that I will include.)
- recently new windshield
- recently replaced OEM radiator (see bad)
- I just replaced the water pump. (old was leaking out the front)
- recently replaced exhaust system (2.5" aluminized). Custom routed
above the bottom of the frame rails.

The bad:

The truck is basically in good shape but there are a few minor things
that need tending to.

- The rear brakes need adjustment. When you stand on the pedal, one
of the rear tires locks first...
- It should have a proper battery. The current battery is from my RV
and is a deep cycle gel cell. It works fine but isn't "right". It needs
a better hold-down.
- There is a brand new toyota radiator that has had one corner
smooshed in from shipping, but doesn't leak and never overheats.
- The heater lines are probably due for replacement.
- The front signal lights are a temporary kludge that I never got
around to replacing with good lights. They do work, though they're
rather hidden.
- drivers side defrost hose needs repair. (hose included but doesn't stay
attached)
- The previous owner did some shoddy stereo wiring which I have
never repaired.

What am I asking? I really have no idea. I know I'd like to see
$10k or more but realistically I know I will have to accept a lot
less in this climate of cruisers-a-plenty. So somewhere in the $7k
neighborhood...

Why am I selling? My wife says I have too many trucks. So I'm
selling either the 40 or the 45. Whichever sells first.

Truck is located in Calgary.

I will personally vouch for Herb, he will not knowningly decieve anyone. ask any question and you will get a truthful answer. he has been in the Land Cruiser community since 1998 and is a member of the TLCA and is in excellent standing in the RMLCA.
