Do you want to change the cluster? I wouldn't swap it over oil and water gauges. Testing by grounding is quick. I'd put money on the sensors being GM.
Yeah just saving up the funds to get the Dakota set. Yeah I’d imagine they are GM. They probably never worked for the previous owners

THis info here from Jim is what your looking for grab the adapter temp union get the Toyota temp sender screw it into the Chevy head hook up the wire , As for what jim on the oil sender simple ,what I did was get the brass extension from an old Chevy they all have one and the Toyota oil sender screw it all together and screw it into the Chevy block behind the distributor hook up wire it should work. That is if the painless wires are correct All simple stuff. That is if the gauge cluster is functioning also.
I love my oem gauges working on my old 350 Chevy

The temp sending unit adapter you can use on your Chevota is Toyota P/N 90404-16160 (if still available), or McMaster Carr #9151K96.
For Oil sending unit you can merely use all 1/8"NPT fittings from your local parts store. You can screw metric Landcruiser sending unit into the 1/8"NPT threads (with thread sealant), but you can not screw 1/8"NPT threads into the Landcruiser engine.
