As much as i hate to do it im putting my 40 up for sale. The wife says one vehicle must go and i habent had luck selling the other 2. I'm located in Gunnison, Colorado. One thing that has happened since writing the ad is the speedo quit working. It needs a new gear in the tranny. I might have this done time permitting. I can provide more detail and pics upon request. Ive tried to include photos of the rust areas. Mud asking price $8500, may consider partial trade.

im missing a ton more, lots of odds and ends, but almost everything is documented and I can walk a potential buyer through it in detail.
The engine runs like a top, the brake system works flawlessly, the 4 wheel drive works great, the cooling system is top notch (i don't even run it with the fan shroud and it stays nice and cool, the fan shroud is included and I can install it prior to a sale if needed, it's just cold here in the winter so it helps keep me warm!), the winch works great, all lights and gauges function correctly (dome light needs bulb).
Having wide tires and old steering it does follow the road a bit, it's mostly on the highway, nothing major and a usual thing for these. Skinnier tires would help with that. There is an oil leak, either in the valve cover gasket or the oil pan gasket, maybe both. I don't really have to add oil but it's seeping, both easy and cheap fixes I just haven't gotten to. I haven't noticed any drips when parked. The dash is cracked and the front seats are torn. Has seat covers on now. 1 rear jump seat, perfect shape. Rust in normal areas but workable for someone looking to restore, useable as is for someone looking to wheel or just use, paint job is just a primer but worked for me, I was mainly concerned with focusing on mechanics now and bodywork later. Frame is good, nothing other than minor surface stuff. All u joints, drivetrain bearings, tre's, etc are good, no leaks other than mentioned above.
This cruiser was purchased by my father in 1999 in Fort Collins, i purchased it from him in 2011, it sat unused with a blown engine from about 2003 until i bought it in 2011 and i have since focused attention on the drivetrain and reliability aspect of it. I take care of it and don't abuse it offroad, its mildly offroaded at best but is a beast when needed. l wouldn't hesitate to drive this cruiser cross country and back again.
I also have a 1984 fj60 parts car. If a potential buyer was interested in axles, diffs, 4 speed tranny, transfercase, bellhousing, rims, seats, steering wheel, etc for a particular build that could be worked into the deal.
