Greetings everyone,

I just put my '69 FJ55 up for sale. Here is the listing:

Ask is $26,500 OBO. Proceeds to go towards the continuing restoration of "the other pig."

Please contact me for further information and/or photos, etc.

Thanks!

Dan

1969 TOYOTA FJ55

Summary:

In great shape with some work to do it finish it.

Details:

Purchased as part of a 2 pig deal in November. Has been professionally gone through mechanically and runs and drives good. Body is in great shape. Underside is in great shape. Zero rust. 2 previous owners completed 85% of the restoration and I added another 5%. Paint looks great in photos, but is an 8/10 at close-up.

Brand new BFG 33x10.5x15 AT’s. Newly installed parking brake cable. New front seat cover. SMS Headliner interior door panel kit included.

Features:

2F engine with Weber carb

H42 4 speed transmission

Rust-free body & frame

Underside of body sprayed with liner

All glass, runs & weather stripping present

Remaining items to address:

Reconnect gauges (previous owner disconnected but connections are evident)

Finish out interior with SMS kit (interior tailgate cover is included)

Rear driver side quarter panel has paint and/or body work cracking. See photos for details. 2 small magnets are shown in the affected area

Install emblems (included)

Tune carb. Currently located at 8,000 feet in elevation--doesn’t make much sense to dial it in here

Install wipers

Acquire and install rear seat (if needed)

This is a great FJ55 that needs only a little work to get to the drivability and appearance “finish line.” Or….just tune the carb and GO!

Inspections welcome! Please contact me to arrange.

Located in Buena Vista, Colorado, about 2.5 hours from Denver.

*Edit: some people have asked why I don't just complete the work necessary to finish it. The answer is......"we" (Well Sorted Automotive) are currently building a frame-off overland FJ55 and I really don't want to mortgage my house in order to build/finish 2 pigs. Only Musk and Bezos have that kind of money!

Tempting. So tempting. I just spent $10k on my '91 FJ80, and I don't have Bezos money either. If this was a Jan 1972 build you'd have my money already.

A clean and dry 55 is like hens teeth, errr, or pig feathers.

Has been undergoing restoration for 7+ years and I suspect the title was lost somewhere during that time. Many states do not issue titles for 15+ year old vehicles. Colorado is apparently a difficult state to register without a title, but there are ways around that.

I guess that’s the “story” you are requesting?
