Bob: I can see that you got it so bad that you can’t just not look. I understand your distress as I have two 55s and a 40 and none of them is on the road.
I am doing some unscientific research about just how “rare” these pigs are, how often they come to market and what they are selling for. I figured that I would share the listings for general interest in this part of the forum. BTW I am not posting the parts pigs that I find. Seriously – I will stop posting the for sale listings, if the members think that I am overwhelming the classifieds. In the meantime, I recommend another beer.

Great idea! Have you considered cutting and pasting more than just the link, which will eventually be dead? By including the body of the listing and a few of the pictures, we (pigaholics) will always be able to go back and see exactly what folks were selling/ asking for their 55. It will also show the condition of the rig being sold.




FJ55 LandCruiser

"Perfect cruiser for a full on restoration. This Cruiser was purchased through a salvage yard with a dismantled title brand and had been sitting for many years. Inspection to be done this week and very possible will have clean title when complete. All glass is perfect just had new windshield installed. Rust free Arizona vehicle. Looks to have been repainted as original color was green. Paint is in great condition. Four-wheel-drive works great engine runs strong with new water pump and seals. Original straight 6 with great compression and weber carb. Original carb is included. Compression 150-145-140-140-140-150. Included Pic of the transfercase gears and gears look brand new. Just installed steel worm gear for electric rear window motor that works awesome. This is better than a barn find. Title is dismantle title with 68000 on odometer. I am taking for level III inspection next week so title will be salvage branded when complete. All wiring has been replaced with painless wiring kit. This is a three speed on the tree that is very very hard to find. Newer interior and headliner as well as carpet. Roof and interior had been coated with raptor coat for sound deadening. Serious inquiries only. These are becoming more rare and the prices keep going up. This could be a 40k vehicle with very minimal work. Please leave detailed message when you call. True barn find??? Not sure with those non '69 front turn indicators. :D:D

I have accumulated information on about 140 Pigs for sale over the last 6 months. At some point, I plan to sort and organize all this raw information into something useful. When I get around to doing this, I will post some kind of summary analysis.
