Hey there Mudders. My very close friend has tasked me with selling his 40. I've known him and this truck for about 4 years now. He would like to sell this thing before the end of SEPT as we will no longer be around to show the truck, and it will then be parked in a storage shed for the duration of our year long deployment.

It is located at my house in Killeen TX (2 hours south of Dallas, 1 hour north of Austin). My email is averettjeremy@hotmail.com or you can PM me here. He is asking $9,000 and is taking reasonable offers in that neighborhood. My friend and I will be out of town for training starting on 8 JUL but will be back around 5 AUG. I will have my telephone with me (254-258-0236) so please call with serious questions and I will answer or return your call asap.

The BLUF is that this is a great looking older 40 with a lot of custom upgrades in overall great shape, but it hasn't been maintained very well for a few years so from a general maintenance standpoint it needs some TLC.

The list of mods:

TPI Fuel Injected SBC
GM TH700R4 Auto Trans
Shackle Reversal
Spring Over Axle with stock springs
Saginaw Power Steering
Front GM (Dana) outers W/disc brakes
Custom front axle shafts
Crossover steering with HD tie rods
Rear disc brakes
Rear traction bar
Autometer gauges
ARB front Locker
ARB compressor
Full family roll cage
Later model tail lights with guards
Aluminum wheels 15" x 8" (AE 589s I believe)
BFG AT KO 32" tires (80%)
Recent paint
Bed liner inside tub
GM tilt column
Grant steering wheel
Custom front bumper
Larger capacity under bed fuel tank
Aftermarket folding front seats (bestop I believe)
CB with PA system
CD player
Probably more that I forgot to mention

Some things worthy of noting:

It appears that it was recently reconditioned in that the frame is in the best condition of any FJ40 I've seen period, especially for a 69, as shown by the pictures. There is very little rust on the underside of this old truck, the little that's there hasn't gotten away and will be easy to control. The front axle has the Toyota housing with GM (Dana) outers welded on, so they must be some custom length axle shafts that fit the ARB inside with conventional Ujoints on the outer ends eliminating birfield breakage.

-----------

The dash was modified with gauges and some kind of pad thing as shown in the pictures. The electrical fans on the radiator are controlled by a toggle switch on the dash. The GM tilt column is somehow mounted in there at an angle so the tilt goes up and left and down and right, might want to turn that. The spring packs are missing a couple of leaves each in order to give it a smooth ride and keep it low enough or 32s after the spring over axle conversion. All doors need weatherstripping. There are 2 switches for the air lockers but only the front has one. Look closely at the pictures as there are flaws here and there in the paint etc.

The maintenance TLC I referred to was things like an exhaust leak on the passenger side somewhere, the left front hublock makes some noise from time to time, the turn signals work intermittently, and there are just rattles here and there.

Again, this is my friend's truck and he has entrusted me with the listing and handling of any questions, all price negotiation and final sales will be directly with him. I'm sure that he would be willing to arrange for vehicle transport with a carrier if necessary. We would like to have anyone interested come and look at it, just call to arrange it.

Hopefully this is detailed enough, please ask any questions. Thanks.
