Selling my 1968 Fj40 factory soft top, original body and paint. I have the original soft top doors rough shape and a set of hard doors.

Price - 25,000 obo

The truck is far from perfect, I build this rig 2 years ago in about 42 days. I have done some more work here and there but it has been my daily driver for the last 2 years. Ive driven it out of state a few times over 1,200 miles to wheel and camp then drove it home. On average hwy gets 13.5mpg running 65mph. Truck does 65-70 Absolutely sorted steering and brakes, no bump steer does not hunt the road drives straight as an arrow! The ride is great, the brakes are fantastic it is such a fun truck to drive and gets a lot of attention.

Almost all my parts have come from Cruiser Matt’s Off-road in Winter park FL.

Motor -
85 Fj60 2F, Desmog.
Webber 38/38.
Long tube header.
TPI firecracker kit.
Champion 3 row aluminum radiator.
2F fan and custom shroud.
Redline HD fan clutch.
Diehard Red top battery.

Steering - Converted to PS.
85 Fj60 box tap for assist.
TPI Saginaw conversion w/ larger pulley.
PSI 6” Ram assist.
Marlin Hi Steer.


Drivetrain -
1985 Fj60 H42 4speed
85 Fj60 38mm splitcase.
Custom crossmember.

Front Axle-
85 Fj60 w/ cut and turn.
4.11 gears w/locker.
Moto Farkles Diff Armor.

Rear Axle -
85 Fj60 S/F.
4.11 gears with locker but not installed do to daily driving.
Tom Woods - Rear Double Cardan custom shaft.
Ruff-stuff Diff Armor.

Brakes - converted to boosted.
Fj60 booster.
FZJ80 M/C.
New stainless hard lines front/rear.
Stainless 14” extended lines front/rear.
95 4runner calipers.
Fj60 parking brake with Fj80 handle.

Suspension -
SOA using some piece from ruff stuff and some from Cruiser Matt’s kit.
Front Fj60 front springs outboard.
Rear Fj60 rear springs. (Factory front mounts cut and widened. Rear mounts moved back.
3” shackle in the front.
4” shackle in the rear.
Bilstein 5100 shocks front and rear.

Winch - Viking 9,500Lb.
Masterpull synthetic 100’.
Factor 55 thimble.

Lights -
Truck lite LED headlights.I also have a set of new glass housing using H4 bulbs that look much better in my opinion.
Light Force LED cubes.
New OEM tail lights, and reflectors.
Plus a very clever 3rd brake light made with the original light that came on the truck. (Only had one)

Fuel tank - New OEM FJ40 tank and sender.

Wheels and Tires -
(5) Black rhino rift 17x9 -38 beadlocks.
(5) Kenda Klever M/T 2 35x12.5r17.

If you don’t like the wheels! LET’S swap them because I love them. Tires are bad ass ride great no plugs or patches.

Stereo -
Rough Country IP66 waterproof 500w Blue tooth speaker.
12v power outlet and twin USB-C 5 fast charging ports mounted in the ashtray location.

Interior - 97-06 Jeep TJ seats front and rear super comfortable. Front has a rip but I have new OEM foam to repair the seat.
Floor pan was all rotted out I use a few panels to repair. I have a front driver and front passenger real steel repair pans on the shelf.


Now the bad.

Wipers don’t work but I have not even attempted to check into that but the knob does nothing. Original unit is still install never touched it.

Cluster lights up but does not work. Truck has all new sending unit and temp sensor as well as Oil. So could be the very old cluster I have 1 extra.

I have access to a fresh low mileage 2F and H42 combo.

I have a LS swap bell housing, throw out bearing and clutch arm. Sitting on the shelf that goes with it.

Price is 25,000 OBO. If your looking for a sorted Fj40 that your not scared to drive around town or wheel I know a guy that’s having twins and looking to sell one.

Trades - 05-06 Toyota Sequoia 4x4 with money on your end. Or a 200 series outright or cash on my end depending. Both need to be clean landcruiser under 180k. Sequoia under 150k.

Titled and insured - with a Clean Florida Title in my name.

Whoa. This thing is killer. Saved a bunch of photos of this one from Instagram, what a rad setup. GLWS, hope it gets used like it was built to be used.
 
Thanks, that means a lot I surly did not build this truck to sell. I built it for me and how I wanted a 40 to look and function. So if it doesn’t sell I will keep put her to work!
 
this 40 is super legit way to wheel in style. With the outboarded front springs and FJ60 axles and steering and wheelbase it drives extremely well on the road with tons of stability but a super comfortable soft ride. and with the FJ60 drivetrain It is basically a complete FJ60 in disguise as a FJ40. Austin who I have known since I was about 16 is a stand up individual I am glad to call my friend.

I’d like to pick your brain at some point.

But for my reference can you measure from ground to top of tub at the b pillar?
Trying to see how much taller this one is than mine.
