I mean, sure, a stock-geared FJ40 would have to turn at 4100 rpms to get to 85 with stock-sized tires, but that's only a few hundred above the red line.

85 mph, imagine that with the death wobble?

F/2F/3F/B/2B/3B/H/2H/12HT/HZ/PZ/HDT all have red line at 4200.
it just sounds like red line should be at 3400.

I think it's cool, I like old advertisements. It gives you insight in to the past and about Toyota's marketing back then. It's way better that what we get now something about redesigned front end and chrome grill on the Rav 4.

What the advertisement doesn't mention is how long it would take to go from 85 to 0 with those vintage brakes. :D

Interesting. I though, based on where the ticks change color on the tach in my 60, that it was ~3600, and I couldn't find reference to the actual red line anywhere.

Cool to know.

:D

Imagine going from 0 - 85 mph and then back again? Straight through with no stopping, except maybe for fuel.

That'd be a two day trip.
