Selling my unrestored 1967 FJ40 Land Cruiser with a 1974 F155 motor. Original three on the tree. I have owned this truck for almost ten years and it has been driven regularly since I bought it. It runs strong and wheels strong. It is far from perfect, but it is a solid truck.
The good:
Body is good. The only rust areas are the rear sill, under the doors and the rear fender wells. Driver and passenger floor pans are solid.
Mostly stock and unmolested – no goofy mods by PO’S. The only non stock items are the exterior paint, driver seat, the cassette deck and speakers and the engine. Oh yeah, and the gun rack.
Runs like a champ. Always starts. It will happily go 65 down the highway all day long. Good oil pressure, doesn’t overheat and NEVER vapor locks at any altitude.
All the lights and turn signals work.
Heater works great, blows plenty hot.
Has decent 31x10.50 15 tires.
The bad:
Well, it is a 50 year old vehicle that is unrestored. Plenty of small items need attention, for example:
Passenger side windshield wiper needs motor
Speedometer needs cable and needle
Defroster needs work
Horn doesn't work
Passenger side steering knuckle leaks due to a worn out axle bushing. That’s right, it’s a pre birfield ball and claw system.
Suspension bushings are pretty much gone
Smokes on long down hills with no throttle
Needs fiberglass top cleaned up and painted, etc.
Comes with a pile of parts including rear jump seats in good condition, a radiator, fuel pump, bikini top, Warn 8274 type winch unknown operational status and more.
