I have a 1966 FJ40 I bought a few years ago (not running) and STILL working on getting her up and running. One of the many things needed is to get the gas pedal installed correctly. What came with it was modified and not original. Hoping that someone wouldn't mind posting some close up pictures of your gas pedal that I can use as a reference. I know that 67's (and maybe later models as well) had the same pedal so anyone with that year too would be really helpful. TIA.

Thanks, however Specter doesn't have the parts I believe I need, as most say "discontinued". I really need some close up pics so I can see exactly how everything connects. There is a thru wall grommet which on my 40 has nothing going thru it, however there is supposed to be some type of metal rod in that location.

the early 40/45 series used 2 versions depending on year, basic description:
from the pedal it either went straight thru the firewall or it went 90 degrees off toward #6 cylinder
then rod linkage to a pivot point then up to the carb
from SOR page
figure A goes stright thru the firewall
figure B is the 90 degree version

you need to know which version you need, pic of the footwell pedal area
post a wanted in the classified, there are good used assemblies out there.

Thanks for the reply. Mine is the "Figure B, 90 degree version". From crawling under my 40 and looking at the engine side of the firewall, I can't see anything as to where the rod linkage would mount, which is why I was hoping for a pic. Will call Specter tomorrow and see what they do indeed have. Also, a good friend of mine, and Pres of our LC club, works for Georg Esterer (Valley Hybrids in Stockton, CA) and unfortunately they don't have what I need. Will also post a pic and will post in Classifieds. Cheers.
