1965 FJ45LV

Location: Bend, OR.
Price: $12K
Miles: 109,000 but I can't guarantee
Engine: F135

Work I have done:
New clutch, t/o bearing, pressure plate, rear main seal and resurfaced flywheel.
New interior, new muffler from the manifold back.
New head gasket and rebuilt head.
Rebuilt radiator.
New water pump and hoses.
New fuel pump. Rebuilt carb.
Gas tank has been completely torn apart, bead blasted and lined. 3 on the tree.
New spedo cable. Odometer and speedometer works.

Wagon runs really well. I used to drive this all the time, but not anymore. Tires are 30x9.5x15r and have plenty of life on them. Hubcaps are original, but not to this vehicle. 3 on the tree. I replaced the transmission since the old one broke a gear.

Hi Dave,

Don't forget to mention the little details that help make this truck so special. Things like the fact that it still has the original keys, with Japanese writing & the, "TEQ" logo all over them! Does it still have that sticker from Awakawa on the window (about the seats/interior)?

If anyone wants older history on this truck, I can give it to them. It breaks my heart that I can only do that instead of buy it back...

Best,
Abe

As Abe said, I do still have the original keys. Also, I picked up 3 out of 4 seat belts. Very nice red that does not go with the interior. Still have the radio and those little reflectors that go below the tail lights. I will post a bunch of pics for all to see.

Also, I remembered that the bell housing has a small crack in it. Doesn't and hasn't effected the performance.

Thanks Carlos,

Blood and plasma was last week. Didn't you hear the adds on the radio how we can double the amount we give.

Everything is good. Diapers are more than we budgeted.

Man David, I kinda figured as much. I am sooo bummed for you. I know how much 'love' you have put into that wagon. I wish I could do something to help. Give me a call sometime, Carlos.

This LV is solid. David is an outstanding (honest) individual. Whomever buys this Cruiser won't be dissapointed.

Bump for a sweet LV...

How solid is the frame and body; was the rust cut out and replaced with steel? Bondo'd? etc, etc. Frame Ok,etc?

Found it; He did a ton of work on the body and paint! More than I would ever attempt, nice job. I did not read every word of the thread; wondering how he handled the rusty hidden panels ie: visible when the sheet metal was off when replacing the quarter sections? (or the frame). Spray in Silver Bullet or something similar? Nice rig and a lot of work. I don't understand selling it only 1 1/2 years after all that work?

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the thoughtful bumps. I am only selling this wagon because my family can use the money. I am currently in school to get my Paramedic license and that is taking me away from working a full time job. We also have a 5month old girl. As much as I love my wagon, I love the potential to remain as debt free as possible.

As far as the rust goes, there still is rust that remains. Not 100% rust free, but close. The specific areas that you are concerned about have been reinforced with sheet metal. I did not rebuild it exactly how it came from the factory, only reinforced. I did use a rust proofing paint once I was done welding.

I have replaced the cracked bell housing so that is no longer a problem for a potential buyer to deal with. Many thanks to Lucy_FJ55 (Carlos) for his help and letting me use his garage.

I definitely want this wagon to go to a fellow mud member and I am willing to work with whomever it may be.

The frame is rock solid and I have need no signs of rust on the frame. Most of the rust was cut out and welded in with new sheet metal. There is some bondo in the rear quarter panels.

I can't believe this hasn't been bought yet. Cool rig. Good luck with the sale. Should go.

Still for sale?

I just found your thread. Sweet truck. Is it still for sale?
