Saw this today on CL, no affiliation. Thoughts...my initial thought was the price, too high for the condition.

1965 FJ 45 Long Bed

Cheers

Can you say FLIPPER??? Looks just like the one 2 posts down that was listed for $2500. Could be wrong but....

called the guy to give him some guilt,he said he is looking for a sucker to buy it.I told him he was dreaming at 7k and he addmitted it,said its so rusty why would anybody buy it?? Pretty weird coversation,no I did not end up with it, I had to mess with you guys,I just bought a new house so my radar has been turned off, never even saw the first ad.He said it came out of bodega bay so that accounts for the rust...too bad..its going to die a slow death!!

Oh...man so this is the one we all thought you got Brian. Damn..too bad, wish it went to someone who would appreciate and bring it back to life. Congrats on the new house!

That is just sad. I was the first person to look at the truck Sunday morning, and I passed on this 45, and I am a complete 'Cruiser whore....

I can pass on my observations of the truck in PM or a phone call if somebody is really interested. And, if you go and look at it, wear a hazmat suit:eek: and know what Hantavirus means.

 enough said, he can keep his toxic waste for $7K. Nick is it beyond resurrection?

It could be fixed up. It was probably a good deal for someone at $2500. The original owner was trying to sell it a couple of years ago for $5K, FYI.

I passed because I have a 45LWB that was a major project(nearing completion now), 2 40's and 2 80's. I was looking at it when my wife called me wondering where I was. I said, Looking at a 45 truck. LOOOOONNNGGG pause, then she said that I didn't need another truck. Which of course meant to me that I could drag this hulk home but it was going to cost me a trip to see my "friend" in the diamond business Tom Shane....

hello i would like to get your thoughts on the fj45 what do you believe a fair market value would be based on what you had seen? thanks

The current "flipper" paid $2500 or less. That was likely a good price for this rig. Recently they have been asking $4500 for the same truck, simply towed to their location.

Now, your $4500 could get you this rig...no affiliation whatsoever, but pointing out the difference. https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-class...1964-fj45-swb-project-cummins-4bta-wa-st.html This truck is well on its' way to being an excellent rig, and just needs finishing...diesel, 60 series axles, upgraded suspension, no rust I can see, and so on. As I said in that thread, it is a steal for what you would be getting.

The truck in this thread, not so much.
