I have a 2017 LX with the stock 21" wheels that I purchased used about a month ago. Great vehicle and I appreciate all the helpful information on this forum.

From what I read, the 21" wheels have 54mm offset. I am thinking about installing Evo Corse DakarZero 17"x 8" wheels that have 40mm offset. I haven't decided on a tire size yet.

Any thoughts on how this difference in offset could impact fitment? I've read other threads on here about wheels and offset, but I'm still wondering if I'm missing something about this offset difference.

40mm is well within reasonable range, if just about perfect. Fitment will be great for upsized tires, bringing the tire out just a tad more for better lateral stability and curb appeal. From a scrub radius perspective, would be just about optimal for a ~33-34" tire.

Thanks for the response Teck. I'll look at 33s for a 17".

Good point on caliper clearance chrisleduc. Anyone know if the brake calipers for 16+ are the same size on the LC and the LX?

Here’s a helpful tool: Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets

EvoCorse will do custom offsets for you as well. I had my 18' dakarzero's ordered in a custom/ more aggressive offset then the 45ET they come standard with. Just a thought if you don't like the 40ET the 17s come in. Mainline Overland was great to deal with... just be prepared to wait for them.

I replied to charliedawg earlier in PM but wanted to drop into the thread too. I believe 16+ braking hardware is an LX LC commonality. That being said there are no fitment issues on the 16+ LC. Link is in my signature of my 16 on them.

Did you ever do this? Because I'm about to.
