Hi,

I want to take the 35 MTs off and keep the aside for wheeling. I would like a very good AT that will see wheeling and road use.

I have a 10" wide rim so the 11" wide Revo is not the best choice. So far I have found:

Terra Grapplers
LT325/70r16 which translates to 33.86x13.03 or
LT305/70r16 E which is 32.68x12.4
which is the best size of the two of these?

BFG A/T KOs
285/75/r16 or
305/70/r16 ??? this one seems to fit a wider rim and has deeper tread according to the fitment guide here: http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/bfgapp/catalog/tires/allterraintako.jsp

any suggesttions? please help

is the answer that obvious or that elusive? i did search and came up with not so much on this size rim.

I would definitely stay away from any 285 on a 10" rim as the beads would not stay seated as well and the sidewall would not bulge much if at all to protect the rim edge when wheeling. IMHO

I think the 305 or the 325 would work fine on that width rim but be prepared they will stick out more, possibly past the flares subjecting the body to more mud, debris, etc... Also it would be harder on the wheel bearings in the long term.

I found this chart to be pretty helpful.

I am not sure of the exact backspace of the rims. its randy's old truck... he put the 35s on it as depicted here:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=75402&highlight=toyo

they are 3" backspacing i think. basically, the 35s that are on there rub badly, so i was hoping to put a 33 on there that might not rub as badly. i have the OME heavy lift with no spacers. do i need spacers?

is sounds like this is the best option for the current set up...
LT305/70r16 E which is 32.68x12.4
then add abit more lift and get the 35s back under there...

I know the 305's don't rub on factory wheels that IIRC have a 4" backspacing. With the 16x10's they still might rub due to the fact that the tire/rim will be closer to the rear of the wheel opening at full lock in a given direction even if they had a 4" backspacing. The decreased tire diameter should help but I haven't heard of anyone running this combination to know for sure.

that is exactly where the 35s not rub even when going into a gas station or something...

thats for the input!
