16" splits with hub caps?

Did the 16" split wheels come with hub caps?
I have come across two sets of original splits that do not have the hub cap clips on them. Both sets show no signs that the clips were removed. Thanks for the input!

My 16" splits off the "78 don't have the tabs.

I think the 60's SWB 45's came with 15", which have the tabs.

I've been wrong before though.

I have a 16" split rim with hubcap clips here, and have seen a few others with the clips. Could just be an Australian thing though. But they are definitely out there

Hmmm. my troopie came from the land of oz. No clips. i have owned two other sets too without the clips. Maybe somebody on here has an idea?

Maybe early 45 series in AU had the clips. And then later on like in troopies and utes they dropped the clips.

Yeah reckon they were only on the early ones myself. The one i have came out from under a 76 model, and i have never seen them on any later cruisers.
They are out there. Check the wheel in the pictures.

There is a guy with the screen name a.greenspan (I think it was him) who mentioned in a thread somewhere that he purchased 16" OEM toyota rims. No idea if they had clips. I beleive he stated they were a European market part. I'd search but the boss is watching

They had clips but they are no split rims.

Just to add to this, my 66 45wagon came from factory with 16" non split rims with clips. So could be an Aussie market thing to. Mind you is the only set i have seen, and i have never seen them in a 15" here. I've been trying to find a set for two years

Yeah - I've got 5 splits and 5 x 15" w/clips.... thinking the same thing cuz I want the hubcaps on my 45

Australia got 16 inch splits with clips, mainly on the 55's I have been told, I have a set on my 42 and recently bought another set from ebay. Like an earlier reply mentioned they are hens teeth here, it has taken me 2 years to find them

FWIW, I just had a visit from a Midwest cruiserhead last week that has a set of 16" split rims WITH factory clips on his troopy.
