Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has put 16"x8" rims on their FJ40. If so, what year is your FJ40 and how do you like them?

I'm thinking about getting some of those all black basic rims with 285/75/16 or 265/75/16 tires.

Thanks, Scott

A friend of mine had 16.5" wheels on his '79 FJ40, he took them off 'cause they lost their bead seat to easily. a differant friend of mine baught them and is having the same problem.

This might be a mute point due to the fact that I believe the 16"ers have a better bead seat.

Have 17" rims on my rig. These have been available for a couple of years. Try BTB Products in Nevada.

yeah, I bought my rig w/16's on it. they seem to work great and I hear you can get better treadlife by running higher psi on 16's

The people who replied (and those who haven't yet).... What tire size and tire are you running on the 16" or 17" rims.

Thanks, Scott

Wheel is a 17" x 8" and the tire is a BFG Mud Terrain in 37 x 12.50 R 17. Sweet combo on the hiway and them along with 4" BTB Legends springs set-up and a 1-1/2" body lift really looks great and body damage is a rare moment indeed.

Down here a lot of people run 235/85x16's on 16x5.5-7" rims. My 60 is currently running 265/75x16's (32x16) on 16x8" rims. No probs at all. When they wear out I'm going up to 285/75x16's on the same rims.
