I am thinking about putting some 16" Rims on my rig. This should make tire selection less of a chore. Has anyone found any 16" rims that had the proper backspace for the rig? I am just looking for some simple black ones nothing fancy.

I browsed the FJ60 Registry for hours looking at different wheels, and a few of the posts mentioned Stockton.
I had a few email correspondences with them (Stockton Wheel Service - Custom Wheels) and they were fairly responsive to my inquiries. I sent them a pic, and they gave me some quotes and said they could basically build whatever I want, and they have the specs on Cruiser wheels.

I haven't made a purchase yet, but have a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta (LT 245/75/R16) studded snow tires that I run on an old set of rims from the p/o.

My 40 wheels are from Stockton. Although there are numerous complaints about them on-line, my experience was just fine and my wheels came on time and to spec. That said, last I heard Stockton had closed its doors and wasn't in business any more?

They've reopened under new ownership.

Here are a couplepics of the Tundra/tacoma steelie.

The idea started cheap, but by the time I added 1" spacers and had them powdered (they were beat up $35 wheels from junkyard), there were other choices, but I like the look with 255/85/16's.

Wow! 2 INCH spacers?! With, one assumes, 3 inch studs?

On lug-centered wheels, that seems like a recipe for balance issues, and potential stud failure.

Most spacers in the 0.75"+ range are more like hockey pucks with holes to bolt to the original studs, then their own studs that the wheel bolts to.

Good catch! Typo, they are 1" spacers, no issues with balance, tracking etc.

Sorry for the confusion.

ya... tan color is cool :)

I want 16" wheels now haha. Nice tan cruiser!

I had BFG A/T 285's on 6.5" GM alloys. What does the mfg of the tire you want to use say is the suggested rim width range?

Ah, thanks for 'splainin... I've never used a spacer, always opted for getting wheels with the right back spacing.

I was thinking cooper sst in a 315/75/16 (if they even make that size?)

It was more a general question...
