I've been searching all morning, and can't really find anything about this combo.

I've read that CDan thinks aftermarket wheels with standard BS won't fit the 80. I trust his judgement, but I've seen on many other threads aftermarket wheels with what looks like less BS. There are a few threads about using the aftermarket wheels with standard bs to give more stability to a lifted cruier. So, what's real life experience.

I'm thinking about some MT 15x10" wheels 3.5" BS (this is for a '92), with some 32" BFG AT KO's. I want to put these on a well loved 80 with 180,000 miles. So I'm sure stock suspension is a bit sagged. I will eventually do the OME medium lift from Slee. And, I'll eventually run some 33's. That's the max for me, because this needs to be a basic reliable dd. Let me clear this up, I mean a dd that is fairly easy to get in and out of. That will fit in a 7' door, as the hospital garages it will get parked in are 7' to 7'2"es.

The other choice for me with the 32's, would be to use a 1.5" wheel spacer with the ol' 15x7" Toyota SR-5 type 15" wheels. I think this would make a cool retro 80 type cruiser set-up. I just hate to put an 11:50 tire on a 7" rim.

If anybody has some pics, I'd love to see them. Any real world exp. would be appreciated. If there is a thread on this topic that I've missed in my many searches, please point me to it.

Thanks!

15 x 10????? For a 32 BFG??? Thats a bit wide of a rim for that size tire, unless BFG came out with some wide 32's these days? I run a 9" wide for a 12.50 IROC, I think those BFG's are 9.5? A 7" or 8" max should do the trick.

Thanks. I ran a 10" rim before with the 32's and they were fine. I used to like the wide look. I think I'm leaning toward a more original look. BFG rec. either an 8" or a 10" rim for the 32's.

I'm picking up the AT's tomorrow. I'm going to order some 1.5" spacers and run the 32's on the stock aluminum rim for now.

My first mod today was taking off the side steps. These were retro fitted from a newer 80. They put them on with self drilling 1/4" screws. They didn't even use all the bolt holes, so they were pulling off on their own. I'm going to add some front mud flaps... again.

I've looked at the sliders, and looks like only for the '93 up years. I think I'm going to make some like slees entry step style rock rails.

2badfj's can make you 80 series sliders for any year... see www.solidrockoffroad.com for more details

Seriously, I have 2bad's sliders on my 80 and had them on my 60 that I sold. Great sliders built for function and beef!

Those look good, Doc. That's just what I'm looking for.

Thanks.

Thanks Sseaman, that's what I have on the 80 right now. I'd just like something a little bit bigger, and really like the BFG AT KO's. I get into a little mud going up to my cabin, and some mud and sand at the boatdock in the summer. I don't think the uniroyals are gonna cut it.

Thanks

i plan to go a little bigger in the future but the tires now only have about 4000 miles on them and i cant justify the money quite yet

FWIW<
I would run the 32" tires on the stocker rims for now,
when you want to lift the truck get some aftermarket rims and mud tires and keep on streeting the bfg at's.
then again I have 33 x 12.50 bfg's on am 15x8 rims on 3.5 " back spacing.

I'll get some up. Things have been crazy around here lately. Not only Christmas, but I just sold my house, and close on the Dec.29th.

I want the pic to be in the dirt... Not the driveway...:D

Gday,
I know this has been covered before - search for 10 inch rim.
Good luck
Matt
