What do the numbers under Toyota name indicate?

The stamped numbers are a mystery. Perhaps a lot number stamped by KTC (Kyoto Tool Company), the company who Toyota commissioned to manufacture the tools.

Haven't looked into this but maybe somebody can rule this out. Was wondering if the numbers could be the year that the part was made? But based on the Japanese eras.

Showa era
"45" = Showa 45 = 1970
"61" = Showa 61 = 1986

Heisei era
"6" = Heisei 6 = 1994

Anyone? Anyone?

@DasBeast a date code has been theorized before, but not using the logic of the Japanese calendar. For the pliers, it is certainly plausible and commands further exploration.

I tested that theory with spanners KTC made for Toyota. Just checked a couple, and they marked S24, S92, S60, and S89. The showa period ended in 1989 at showa 64, so although the theory may apply to the pliers, it wouldn't for the spanners.

KTC doesn't divulge much info about their forge marks. I know someone who has tried to pry it out of them, to no avail.

Thanks for the thought. Going to look into it more.
