My friend is looking at 33" tires to mount up to his FJ80 with stock 15" wheels.

We want to know what width tire fits on the stock 15" rim, if it will stick out past the fender flares.

He lives in DC and one of the inspection requirements is that the tires are inside the fenders.

Tires he is looking at:

BF mt's: 33/12.5/15 or 33/10.5/15

BF at's: 33/12.5/15 or 33/10.5/15

He is going back and forth over at/mt's and he knows the +/-. We are looking more for fit info and pics if you have them.

Thanks.

12.50's should fit fine. My 10.50's just BARELY stick out (like 1/4-1/2") without flares. Flares add another 2" to each side.

Does anyone know how wide the stock 15" wheels are?

Does anyone have a pic of a 33/12.5/15 tire on a stock 15" wheel?

Thanks

take it to a tire shop, they'll tell you :)

I am currently runnin, 33x12.50x15 on stock rims. They are 15x7. I do not have any tire passed the flares. I also have the BFG At's (new). Any questions, pm me.

I have 35X12.50s on the stock rims and they do not stick out at all. You should be fine with any of those.

Ran 33x1250 BFG ATs on stock alloys for the longest time, ran them in the single digit psi several times, never even spun a tire on the rim. Don't recall them sticking out, even w/o flares.

Not what you specifically asked for but heres a pic of mine with BFG MT 32x11.5 on the stock 15's (they are 7" wide btw). You WILL get people who swear 12.5" tires on a 7" rim is dangerous.

I run 35x14.50 tires on the stock 15x7 alloy's on my trail rig. Poor man's beadlocks.
