I Bought a 13BT diesel engine to drop into my bj-44 but have since sold the BJ-44 and still have the engine. Will sell for what I have into it . This should drop into any b- series Toyota Diesel. Thanks

Age, mileage, accessories included, etc?

Does it need any work?

Where did you buy it from?

Will it bolt up to a H41? I have heard there may be input shafts?

I am considering a 13BT for my FJ40 project.

13 bt on ebay

Not sure about conversion questions. I bought it off of ebay from a place that sells diesel engines they guarantied it to be in working order. I have not started it bought if for my bj-44 but then sold it. All of the information I got from the person I bought it from is listed in the ad.
 
Info for B series conversions with a 13 BT

If your "B" engine is tired and you're interested in a turbo as well why not just call your local engine importer and order up a 13B-T direct from Japan. It will bolt to what you currently have including motor mounts tranny rad etc. etc. and it will give you the turbo as well. You'll need to special order no doubt since they won't have folks falling over each other to get one in AL!
I've rebuilt a 3B and the rebuild kit was nearly $1000 landed from Oz, the machine shop work was about $2000. I also had the injectors done for $50 each and injection pump looked at for about $500 or so. An AXT turbo kit will ba about $3000. As you can see the costs start to add up quickly not to mention that the truck is out of commission while the engine is being done!
You can swap in a 13B-T in a day or so.

That sounds like something I said :rolleyes:

The "B" series engines use a different transmission input shaft from the "F" series gas and "H" series diesel engines. If you swap input shafts to match the engine then you can use the transmission. I did that on my doughters FJ55 and the H41 that is in my '67 FJ45LV came without an input shaft at all!
 
Sooooo, what is the bottom line cost for ordering a new 13B-T from Japan? You mentioned the costs of rebuilding and Turbocharging a tired B, but I didn't see the cost of the "new: route. TIA.

You want NEW?? Dig DEEP, REAL DEEP!! Most folks go the takeout route. I seriously doubt anyone has gone for a NEW motor.

Cruiseraddict, does the engine come complete with all accessories? (I know the tranny and transfer are not included.) Also, is the engine 12volt or 24volt? I am assuming 24volt as the donor vehicle was JDM, but it pays to ask. Thanks
 
comes with turbo, alternator, clutch

Currently on Ebay ends tomarrow comes with everything in the pictures.
