I just wanted to find out what the other 13B-T owners are experiencing for fuel consumption in their trucks. I know Greg B. is getting slightly better economy than me, and we have fairly similar setups right now.

I'm getting about 23 US MPG (sometimes less) with mixed hwy/city driving (mostly city). I am running 255/85r/16 (33.3" OD) tires on the factory 4:11 R&P, stock H55F.

I am not terribly impressed with this figure. Of course it's a lot better than my old Poofinder 3L V6...but I have heard that the guys with the old 12v Cummins diesel are getting 21 MPG. I know that this is really not that relevant, as I love my Cruiser...but I want to know if my figures are off enough from the average to warrant a thorough investigation. TIA.

this depends mostly on driving habits but i was getting about 22 mpg on a good day with ol smokey.
stock everything but Belton and with 35s...

stone,
i get about 25/26 US mpg when highway travelling,
little less around town
235/85r16
belton 50mm lift
fj60 body with 13bt in it
h55f

stop yer groaning.... ;)

I just got 12.5mpg with my 12H-T....

38s, auto, 5.29s SOA and 2" body lift with full armour...I weighed in at 6498lbs and cruised along at 75mph@2300rpm. :flipoff2:

HI Stone,

Best Ive done was 8L / 100 kms on highway with stock sized tries. I was in 4wd and doing about 90km/h max due to the fricken black ice weve had for the past month. Worst Ive done was 10.5L/100km so far. I also am a gramma driver and do far more highway than "city" driving! :D

cheers,
johnny
89 bj74 bare bones, auto, 130,000 kms

I am scared to think that there are people driving 13bt powered vehielces around who feel the need to distinguish themselves from normal 13bt operators by calling themselves grandma drivers :D

My TDI Jetta gets 55!

Totally not relevant to the topic at hand but thought I'd dive in anyway....I once went from Calgary to Carmen Manitoba on one fill in a 99 Jetta TDI....1369kms! Mind you when I rolled into Carmen after looking for fuel for the last 200kms I was on nothing but fumes :D

How well do the diesel additives work? Any better milage using a cetaine booster? Any advangate in greater cetane boost? ie increasing cetane # by 3 vs 6?

Ive used Amsoil cetane booster and Amsoil additive in every tank since the car was new! I use Stanadyne as a lubricity additive every tank too.

It cant be anything but good! As they are slowly taking out the sulpher in our fuel here in North America you NEED to make sure you are adding some type of lubricity additive if you want your injection pump to survive!

Do you get better or worse milage with 33's? I know it lowers the RPM on the freeway... but the extra inertia can suck the diesel... Also, I read thinner tires help with the milage... like 10.5 opposed to 12.5. Wonder how much

Steve
