12V accessory power

I'm getting ready to add a light bar and purchased some 200-series switches for the dash. For those who have done this (or similar), what did you use to tap into the dash power so that your lighted switches come on only when the vehicle is running? Did any of you tap separately into a wire to power the backlight only when the lights are on?
