The photo does make them look like they almost have some poke, I would say they are almost perfectly flush with the fender. They are Toyota OEM steelies

Visited Painted Canyon/Ladder Canyon over the weekend. Very cool place. Free dispersed camping, really nice trails with ladders and boulders. Highly recommended if you're in Southern California. Just google-map painted canyon trail head and it'll pop up.

Also, first night using the Gazelle t4 tent. It was actually delivered the day we left, so that worked out perfectly. Coming from an ozark trail instant tent...they set up about the same time, but the quality between the two is a massive difference.

Wow that looks like a killer spot. Might have to make the drive down from the bay area. Thanks for sharing!

Just running 255/80/17 I like the size, they give me full range of articulation with no rubbing. I’ll keep running this size. I don’t like the coppers (st max) so much, I’m not sure what tire I’ll run next.

Have you experienced both on and off road issues with this tire? I've been torn between 255/75 stt pro or 255/75 stt maxx which I believe are c rated. I seem to fall back to the coopers every time I research and consider other tires.

These tires have done very well everywhere I’ve taken them on and off-road, they have surprised me.
There tread wear has also surprised me as well. I do rotate all 5.

That is promising to hear. St maxx seems to have strong majority of reviews being well mannered on road and capable off road. Would you ever consider stt pro? I feel st maxx would do me well, though if we actually get a winter in northern California, worried about mud performance.

I would consider them, my brother had a set for a few months before he sold his taco, they seemed fine.
All being said I’m not sure on my next tire.
looking at the kenda klever r/t in 35x10.5x17
I would like to go taller and stay skinny.

I ran these tires for awhile with a 3" lift, adjustable upper and lower rear control arms, whiteline poly LCA bushings, JBA UCA's, 17x8.5 FN 5 stars and all other suspension components associated with clearance being new also. I run a Lil B's front bumper, no fender trim or cladding, running boards removed and a very aggressive BMC.

With that set up, I could run the 35's around town with no problems. I could run moderate obstacles without issues also. As soon as I got to full compression, I rubbed heavily though.

My points of contact were all along the trailing edge of the rear bumper, the sheet metal in the back of the rear wheel wells, the arch of the rear wheel wells and the sheetmetal above body mount on the front wheel wells.

I really liked the tires, but had to abandon them after pounding sheetmetal, folding all possible seams and fully removing my rear bumper without successfully eliminating contact points.

A 285/75/17 was where I ended up. If I could find a 34x10.5, I be all over it.

Yeah I don’t want any rubbing, as I do wheel mine pretty hard sometimes. The ground clearance would be nice on the rocks though.
I my end up with the 33/10.5/17 kenda klever R/T.
BFGoodrich ko2 come in a 34/10.5/17 they are pricey.
