Need some advice.
I picked up a pair of JDM Toyota yellow marker lights for the rebuild. They have the nice thick non cracking rubber backing like the rear ones.
Question...
They are obviously 24V (didn't know that when I bought them).
The plugs and wires , including wire colors, are exactly the same as my FJ. I plugged the new ones in and the light bulb isn't real bright because they are 24V I guess. I removed the 24V bulb and put in a 12V and it shines bright.
IS there any unforseen harm in running them with a 12V bulb even though it says "for 24V 5W"?

NO..........the lights them self dont know if there 12v or 24v...............if you dont tell them.

What I find interesting is that 24v systems have lighter gauge wire...its a resistance thing or lack of ???

Thanks for the confirmation In2.
Why they molded the "For 24V 5W" into the plastic is what had me wondering. Didn't want some kind of meltdown.:hillbilly:

If you put 12v bulbs into that receptacle on a 24 volt truck, they WILL melt. Ask my trucks previous owner how I know...

You should be fine, (although check to make sure the thinner wire doesn't get hot) and if not PM me and I'll probably be happy to take 'em of your hands!
