Yea, I'm going to test the ipad MotionX app this time, with the whole park downloaded beforehand. At the very least I should be able to backtrack if we get lost.

Also bought a new 5 gallon jerry can for the 40, which means I can run all day and most the night (in case we end up in Kentucky). :hillbilly:

The only trail I've ever done is on the east side of the park. Trail 52 is an all day moderate level trail that takes you up to the flats that overlook I75 near caryville area, then towards the eternal flame. I'm pretty sure it would be a ways from camp but it would be for sure an 8+hr day in the woods.

sounds like a great idea! im defiantly bringing at least 5 gal of extra fuel, after almost running out last time, don't want to get caught with my pants down!

tech: what do you recommend to carry gas in? I have a few 5 gal red gas

also i fixed a broken frame rail nut that holds my ARB front bumper on, welded nuts to steel plate and then inserted it in the rail and tacked it down. all is good now! not something i want to do again!

You'd be hard pressed to run out a complete tank in one day. We ran the park 12+ hours and the 100s had gas to spare.

I personally do not like having spare gas inside the truck, so in the event I needed to pack in gas, I'd prolly mount jerrys or rotopax to the bumper (some put it on the roof).

I for sure need to top off this time, good thing the gas station is fairly close.... wait that means the beer station is close too:cheers:

I will probably look into rotopax for the next trip but its too late to mount then and finish all i have to do before the trip and then pack. I think a ladder and a mount would look good on the rear bumper!

Wish I'd seen this trip / event earlier. It is not posted in the Trip / Upcoming Events Forum and think it's prob a long shot for me now. Sadly, I've never been to an actual TLCA sanctioned event... I'm sure it will be a good time for all...

I won't have my hundy, but coming to hunt 40's. someone send me a text or call me and let me know where you'll be camping. I'll be getting there Friday around noon!

Patrick, Sam, and I are departing Wednesday around lunch time. If I get held up with anything I will caravan with you. I will let you know Wednesday around noon.

Profender rear shocks came in hopefully i can get these on before the trip. I hate having parts come in at the last minute.... oh and of course the blower fan for the AC is flaky so, looks like a new one of those too.

I also downloaded the .pdf map to my phone. I actually installed a power outlet for a phone charger in my mini so I could keep the phone up while wheeling. AND, I printed out about 5 blown up copies of the map just in case. :hhmm:

Just tested and re spooled the winch today , so it should be good to go!

GSMTR 2013 was awesome. Despite the rain every day, it's a blast. Better pictures soon. We are leaving in the AM.
