What exactly does corrosion perforation mean? My 2000 has the lip on the top rear hatch swelling from corrosion as well as blisters poping up on quite a few other areas. My 5 year "Corrosion Perforation" warranty is coming up on expiration and I get differing opinions on what that covers. Any experiences?

Just show it to a few dealer and find the most willing to work with you. If there is a scratch then it would not be covered since it was considered normal wear and tear.

I imagine if the corrosion is from salt on the roads, it's probably not covered. I'd guess it's like if you live in California away from the beach and it starts to corrode and the paint isn't scratched, then you can claim it's a defect in materials.

I'd still check with the dealer though. Are there no scratches or chips that allowed the rust to get there?

I will be trying a couple of local dealers to see what they say. The corrosion swelling the bottom lip of the rear hatch door seems to be the result of drainage holes that were nearly painted shut. No chips or scratches but the rear doors are way worse than any other part of the body.
