I don't spend much time in this section, as the only 100 in the family is my dad's, however, I need to know if there is a mod one can perform on the 100 analogous to the "pin 7" mod that one can do to an 80.

We have a very steep driveway at our lake house and still somewhat steep one at home, and I use 2wd low range all the time in my 80 for moving trailers around, and dad would like to be able to do the same (awd low) in his 100.

I did a quick search and didn't see anything.

Thanks for the help.

Good work Travis! :D Simultaneous!

What year is his 100?

What year is his 100?

On my 2000, no pin 7 mod needed. 4Lo is independent of the center diff lock (as per the user manual).

His is a 98. Perhaps a leftover from the 80 series, as all of them were set up from the factory to automatically engage center diff lock upon shifting to low range.

Thanks for the help fellas.

I just performed this mod on my 99 LX. It's easiest to actually remove the little nut that holds the trans control relay so that you have better access to remove the plug. Saves your fingers ;)

Anyone have a picture of this?
