The robustness of an impact socket is good but, as most of us know, sometimes the thicker wall makes the OD to large to fit a recess. It looks like that could be the case on the hub nut, even with a standard wall socket. Instead of swinging by the local discount tool shop and picking up a 2-1/8” six point for $5 or so, I’ll go ahead and order the sure thing. A little more effort and hassle in the beginning but probably worth it in the end. Laziness EVENTUALLY results in pain.
